Canary wood is too vivid to hide end-grain — so this board wears its streaks of red, yellow, and orange at all times. Beautiful dry, and absolutely stunning the moment you re-oil it.

As simple as can be, what started with two canary wood planks became staves that were glued together, flattened, and then notched with a juice groove. Though many other more complex designs abound, this one stands out in its simplicity. The owner actual refuses to cut on it, and puts it out on display. Hopefully it will one day get scars from use that will just bring out more beauty.
