With such a well-defined purpose, the design practically wrote itself — a marble surface for rolling dough, a shelf with slots sized for pans and molds, rods to hang baking sheets, hooks for utensils, and wheels to move it wherever it's needed. Every detail earns its place.

he marble slab came as it was — perfect in size for serious baking, but rough-cut on three edges. That dictated everything: the dimensions, the framing, and the decision to border three sides with half-lapped wood to give it a finished edge. From there the base came together cleanly with pocket holes and finish screws, and lockable wheels mean it can roll freely or lock in place — useful, since the owner ended up using it as a center island just as often as a baking station.
